The MORCHER product portfolio includes; single-use, pre-loaded capsular rings (such as capsular tension rings, cionni rings and capsular ring segments) and foldable IOLs (including; hydrophilic acrylic lenses and the 'Bag-In-The-Lens' range), as well as special implants such as caliper rings.

CTRs stabilise the capsule in cases of damaged or missing zonules and also in potentially complicated surgical conditions, luxation of IOLs, zonuloysis, pseudoexfoliation, and Marchesani syndrome. CTRs are also used in cases of severe myopia to stabilise the capsule. The rings reduce the risk of damaging the capsule or zonula during surgery as they simplify the implantation of foldable IOLs, due to better centring of the IOL, which is beneficial in cases of future capsular bag shrinkage.

MORCHER CTRs are manufactured from one-piece PMMA. All CTRs are single-use and preloaded.

Cionni rings are CTRs used for scleral fixation. They have additional fixation eyelets, to allow the entire ring to be fixated permanently to the sclera with sutures. Different models are available providing the Surgeon with versatility in placement of scleral fixation, depending on the extent and area of zonular weakness.

Capsular segments are designed for patients with extensive and/or progressive zonular loss. They can be used in cases where a discontinuous capsulorhexis, an anterior capsule tear or a posterior capsule tear, is present, as they do not produce a 360° expansile force.

Yes, MORCHER manufacture foldable intraocular lenses (IOLs). Hydrophilic acrylic lenses are made of acrylic material and positioned in the capsular bag or sulcus. The 'Bag-In-The-Lens' series prevents PCO in the visual field.

There are 3 types of Bag-In-the-Lens IOLs in the range; Type 89A are for adults and paediatrics, type 89D are for short eyes, while type 89F are for combined cataract and vitrectomy procedures or in eyes with large pupils.

Caliper rings are a temporary device to enable the Surgeon to create a more precise anterior capsulorhexis. Use of a Caliper Ring is advised in procedures where a calibrated anterior capsulorhexis of a precise diameter is desired. Caliper Rings are available in five sizes, ranging from 4.3mm in diameter to 6.8mm, and are made in black PMEA.
