The ‘Berghaus/Schrom’ lid chain is a flexible implant made of platinum and iridium, which enables optimum pre-tarsal alignment and maintains long-term flexibility.  These materials also have better weight distribution and biocompatibility than commonly-used gold implants.

SPIGGLE & THEIS lid implants are MR conditional. A patient can be safely scanned in a MR system meeting certain conditions.

Yes, to determine which weight is appropriate for each patient, test weights are used. A test weight is glued to the upper lid to determine a sufficient lid closure. The test weights are made of stainless steel and are reusable, as they are not for implantation.
