Haag-Streit Academy hosts successful Slit Lamp Skills courses

Haag-Streit UK hosted two successful days of Slit Lamp Skills courses last week at Haag-Streit HQ in Bishop’s Stortford.

Both the Basic Slit Lamp Skills course on Thursday 27th June and the Advanced Slit Lamp Skills course on Friday 28th June were fully-booked, and delegates provided some fantastic feedback on the training they received. Positive comments included: "The workshops were amazing", "I will definitely be recommending this course to my colleagues", "The faculty were really friendly, and the day flowed perfectly" and "All aspects of the course are so well organised."

Morning lectures across both days covered topics such as anatomy of the eye, tonometry principles, slit lamp imaging and ophthalmic pathology, which were presented by Sunil Mamtora, Ophthalmologist at Bristol Eye Hospital, and Haag-Streit UK Product Manager, Gemma Edwards. Delegates found the afternoon hands-on workshops particularly interesting, when they enjoyed demonstrations of the Eyesi Slit Lamp Simulator and the brand-new Imaging Module 910 3D, in conjunction with the BQ 900.

Haag-Streit UK Events Co-ordinator, Victoria Chapman-Brown commented: “Running face-to-face educational courses is the part of my job I enjoy the most. Seeing delegates’ reactions during the practical workshops, watching them learning new skills, and seeing their confidence grow throughout the course is extremely fulfilling. We know we are doing a good job when delegates book online at the end of the day for the next available course.”
