Haag-Streit releases Eyesi Surgical Software 4.2
Haag-Streit UK is delighted to announce the release of Software 4.2 for the Eyesi Surgical Simulator. The features of this release – available to Haag-Streit Simulation customers with a Gold Software Plan (GSP), include:
Extended phaco tasks
The existing lens removal task – a key feature of the previous Software 4.0 release – has been enhanced to include hydrodissection. This allows trainees to progress seamlessly from hydrodissection through to irrigation & aspiration (I&A) in one task, taking the Eyesi Surgical a step closer to a complete cataract surgery in one simulation.
New capsulorhexis tasks
Two new tasks – enlargement training and rescue maneuver – teach trainees the necessary skills to conduct advanced techniques, such as increasing the size of a capsular tear, and redirecting a tear from the iris back to the center. On-screen guidance and immersive graphics ensure close alignment with real-world scenarios in preparation for live cataract surgery.
Retinal detachment strategies
This module helps trainees prepare and apply the various techniques for successfully managing retinal detachment. Enhanced guiding elements signpost trainees towards different techniques, providing enough direction to learn autonomously while still having the freedom to explore different strategies.
Incision & paracentesis
In Eyesi Surgical Software 4.2, trainees must configure their incision and paracentesis choices in the software settings and stick with these choices throughout the surgical task. By doing so, residents learn the importance of good surgical planning: which incisions they will make, and the best instruments to use.
Five languages now available
Eyesi Surgical now offers courseware in Chinese (simplified), French, Russian, and Spanish as well as English. This allows trainees to learn and practice in an increasing number of languages, supporting residents and educators, while increasing the simulator’s capacity for autonomous learning.
