Haag-Streit Academy host first successful Slit Lamp Skills courses of 2025
Haag-Streit UK hosted their first successful Slit Lamp Skills courses of 2025 earlier this month.
Held at the Radisson Blu in Leeds on 13th and 14th March, the basic and advanced courses were both well attended. The courses featured guest lectures by Ophthalmologist Mr Sunil Mamtora, as well as hands-on workshops with Haag-Streit equipment. Mr Mamtora’s pathology workshop sessions and 3D videos were particularly popular.
There were several slit lamp photographers in attendance who were keen to improve their skills on the BX 900, often referred to as the ‘photographer’s slit lamp’. In addition to developing their skills, they enjoyed taking part in the Academy’s ‘Best Image’ competition. A quiz at the end of each day was enjoyed by all.
Some delegates attended both days of the course, whilst some who only attended the basic day were left hungry for more and made enquiries about the next Slit Lamp Skills courses in Birmingham on 17th & 18th June. To book your place on the next course, visit https://hsuk.co/AcademyCourseBookings
Attendees rated the courses very highly, giving them an impressive overall score of 4.86 out of 5. Feedback from attendees included:
“I had a great experience and learned a lot. Thank you for the tips on using the slit lamp.”
“Great content and even better delivery!”
“Incredibly interesting and I have learned so much. Thank you to everyone involved.”
“Brilliant course! So much useful information. Thank you!”
Haag-Streit UK Events Manager, Victoria Chapman-Brown, commented: “I was delighted that both course days were at maximum capacity, and that all attendees were enthusiastic and keen to learn. It has been seven years since we have hosted an Academy course in Leeds; it felt great to be back. The courses attracted a diverse mix of ophthalmic professionals, and people travelled from as far away as Ireland to attend. These first courses of the year were a great success, and I’m looking forward to our next offering in Birmingham in June.”
