Slit Lamp Courses
The Slit Lamp Basic Skills Course offers a full day of training and includes over two hours of hands-on workshops with product experts. Beginning with a talk covering the fundamentals of the slit lamp, the course then features a live demo of how the slit lamp works and examination techniques. This is followed by more specialist examination techniques, including Goldmann applanation tonometry and fundoscopy principles. The Basic skills course is ideal for those who are new to the slit lamp or who wish to improve existing slit lamp skills. Click here to view the agenda.
The Slit Lamp Advanced Skills Course focuses on skills and techniques that will take the slit lamp examination to the next level, including identifying ophthalmic pathology and use of auxiliary lens, including Gonioscopy and fundoscopy examination. During the morning a series of lectures will focus on various advanced techniques including the skills necessary to achieve superior results in the field of ophthalmic imaging, with expert advice on how to get the most from your imaging module. This is followed by hands-on, demonstrations and workshops delivered by highly skilled slit lamp users. The Advanced Skills course is ideal for those who have experience with using the slit lamp and want to advance their understanding of illumination and examination techniques, as well as gain a greater appreciation of ophthalmic pathology. ‘Improving Outcomes‘ Biometry Courses
The ‘Improving Outcomes’ Biometry: Measurement Essentials Course focuses on measurement acquisition and obtaining high-quality results. Accurate biometry is essential, as it forms a foundation for cataract surgery planning and any errors will contribute to unexpected surgical outcomes. This course offers a guide on how to optimise the use of your biometer and interpret biometry measurements. We also look at common pitfalls that cause inaccuracies in measurements and learn about skills to confidently minimise and correct errors. Click here to view the agenda.
The ‘Improving Outcomes‘ Biometry: Clinical Decisions and Management Course focuses on how biometry measurements can be used to guide clinical decision making. This includes evidence-based approaches to selecting the appropriate formulae, planning for more complex cataract cases, and approaches to problem solving with biometry when outcomes are not as predicted. Skills Hub–Slit Lamp Pay & Play
The next Skills Hub - Slit Lamp Pay & Play session is taking place on Friday 4th April 2025. This 4 hour drop-in session will run from 11am to 3pm at the HS-UK Training Facility, Bishop's Stortford.

- Are you wanting to explore the full range of HS slit lamps and imaging products?
If you answered yes to all or most of the above then our Skills Hub slit lamp session is perfect for you.
This hands-on session provides a maximum of eight delegates shared access to the latest Haag-Streit gold-standard slit lamp devices, including the Eyesi Slit lamp Simulator, to practice skills and techniques in a supervised no pressure environment with product experts on hand to give guidance and answer questions.
Hot and cold drinks will be provided and there is free parking onsite.
