'Improving Outcomes' Biometry Courses

HS-UK is delighted to announce exclusive dates for two 'Improving Outcomes' biometry courses taking place at The Studio, Birmingham City Centre. The courses are specifically designed to help beginners and experienced ophthalmic consultants get the most from their biometers through lectures and hands-on workshops with experts such as Mr David Sculfor, Consultant Optometrist, Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Mr Peter Wilson, Consultant Ophthalmologist, NHS Fife & Forth Valley.

The ‘Improving Outcomes’ Biometry: Measurement Essentials Course on 19th June 2025 focuses on measurement acquisition and obtaining high-quality results. Accurate biometry is essential, as it forms a foundation for cataract surgery planning and any errors will contribute to unexpected surgical outcomes. This course offers a guide on how to optimise the use of your biometer and interpret biometry measurements. We also look at common pitfalls that cause inaccuracies in measurements and learn about skills to confidently minimise and correct errors. Click here to view the agenda.

The ‘Improving Outcomes‘ Biometry: Clinical Decisions and Management Course on 20th June 2025 focuses on how biometry measurements can be used to guide clinical decision making. This includes evidence-based approaches to selecting the appropriate formulae, planning for more complex cataract cases, and approaches to problem solving with biometry when outcomes are not as predicted. Both courses are approved for 6 CPD points.
