Haag-Streit is proud to announce the global launch of two new innovations: the Elara 900 and the Refractor 900. Following a successful launch at DOC 2025 for the German and Swiss markets, both products will make their international debut at ESCRS 2025 in Copenhagen.
Elara 900: The slit lamp. Reinvented.
The Elara 900 is Haag-Streit’s innovative new slit lamp, created for ambitious eye care professionals seeking superior visualization, streamlined workflow, and optimal comfort. With Haag-Streit’s renowned optical quality and a revolutionary projector-based “P-Type” light source, Elara 900 enhances visualization of fine ocular structures across a wide range of clinical scenarios.
Efficiency is built in. With intelligent one-touch “presets,” clinicians can apply customized examination settings in a single motion. Motorized height and magnification controls allow fast, seamless adjustments, while an optional dual-camera setup enables immersive 3D* image and video capture in 4K for teaching and documentation.
Comfort is central to Elara’s design. Inclined oculars, a spacious headrest, and ergonomically placed controls help reduce physical strain and support a more natural posture – ideal for high-volume use without compromising clinical performance.
Refractor 900: The complete digital refraction solution
Precision meets performance in the Refractor 900 – a reliable, fast, and accurate digital phoropter designed for efficient, high-quality refraction. Built with robust, high-precision mechanics, it features ultra-fast lens changes, 1/8 diopter adjustments in sphere and cylinder, and real-time video imaging for accurate vertex distance measurement.
Designed for today’s busy clinics, the Refractor 900 supports customizable refraction sequences, allowing practitioners to move efficiently through exams while maintaining full control. Its transparent lens carrier and quiet motor help create a calmer exam environment, while the intuitive touchscreen interface and ergonomic button layout facilitate easy and user-friendly operation.
The system integrates seamlessly into clinical environments. With secure EMR connectivity, multi-device compatibility, and direct control of vision testing tools like the Acuity Chart 900, the Refractor 900 simplifies data exchange and minimizes manual input – helping clinicians deliver consistent, confident results.
