Haag-Streit Academy to host first slit lamp basic & advanced skills courses of 2025
Haag-Streit UK will be hosting the first of their slit lamp basic and advanced skills courses of 2025 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Leeds.
With a full course schedule outlined for 2025, the first Slit Lamp Basic Skills Course will be taking place on 13th March and the first Slit Lamp Advanced Skills Course will be taking place on 14th March. Priced at just £150 (ex VAT) per day, attendees can choose to attend either or both days. The centrally located Radisson Blu Hotel is close to Leeds train station, offering convenient transportation.
Area Sales Manager for Haag-Streit UK, Nicky Carr, commented: “It’s been a number of years since we have run an Academy course in Leeds, so I’m pleased that we will be supporting ophthalmic professionals in this region this year. The slit lamp skills courses are ideal for anyone looking to improve their skills in a supportive environment, so I encourage anyone in Leeds or the surrounding areas to attend.”
Each course includes a mixture of guest lectures and interactive workshops with Haag-Streit UK Project Managers. Previous attendees find the workshops particularly engaging, as it’s a chance to spend time practising with the equipment; an activity that is often not an option in a busy clinic.
Ophthalmologist at Bristol Eye Hospital, Mr Sunil Mamtora, will be presenting lectures at the slit lamp skills courses. Sunil balances his clinical commitments with his academic work as a researcher and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow. Sunil was previously the Chair of the Ophthalmologists Training Group (OTG) at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as well as sitting on the Council for the college and being a member of the trustee board.
