Subretinal cannulas

Safe penetration of the retina

PolyVent Cannulas

Green tip for increased visibility

PolyVent Cannulas are available in 23g or 25g with a fixed or extendable/retractable green polyimide tip. The extendable feature allows easier insertion through valved cannulas and utilizes a thin walled, low dead-space infusion tubing to minimize waste of the injectable. PolyVent Cannulas combine the unique qualities of MedOne's Dual Bore Cannulas with the features of the subretinal PolyTip Cannulas, passively releasing BSS. This offsets the pressure increase caused by the subretinal injection, lessening the pressure, equalising IOP and reducing the reflex of the drug.

Standard & Extendable PolyTip Cannulas

Eliminate the need for separate retinotomy

The 38g PolyTip Cannulas are rigid enough to penetrate the retina. These products are ideal for subretinal injection and low volume fluid drainage. The 2mm green tip allows easy passage through valved entry cannulas and better visibility. Its shorter tip is rigid enough to penetrate the retina, while the 5mm is more flexible. The Extendable PolyTip Cannulas feature a 38g tip that can be fully retracted for easy passage through a valved entry cannula, then extended up to 5mm in length. Shorter tubing reduces the loss of injection fluid.

Micro & PolyTip Cannulas

Easy penetration through the retina

The Micro Cannula has a 40g (0.10mm diameter) beveled tip with a slight curve, providing greater visibility and an easier approach angle for entry into subretinal spaces. It is compatible with 25g entry cannulas. PolyTip Cannulas utilize an extremely thin-walled, semi-flexible tip, allowing maximum flow rate in a small diameter cannula. The luer lock hub enables a quick, secure connection to a syringe, extension tube or infusion line.

MicroDose Injection Kit

Ideal for low volume subretinal injections

The MedOne MicroDose Injection Kit adapts the viscous fluid injection (VFI) set from your vitrectomy machine for use with a 1ml syringe. Simply attach the kit to the VFI tubing set from the vitrectomy console and place a subretinal injection cannula on the tip. The kit gives full control of the injection via a console foot pedal, and also includes an adapter and syringe.

New silicone-free MicroDose Injection Kit

Reliability & control during high precision subretinal injections

MedOne's new MicroDose SF Injection Kit features a silicone-free syringe which eliminates the risk of silicone droplets during injection. Its unique stopper design reduces deadspace to approximately 10 microliters and the removable plunger rod enables manual filling, for improved accuracy.

Extension tube

For precise, controlled microinjections

This short silicone extension tube can be used with any of the MedOne cannulas. It is ideal for use with the subretinal PolyTip Cannulas, enabling precise positioning of the cannula tip while injection is performed with the opposite hand or by an assistant. The short, small-bore tube has a 0.2ml priming volume for minimal fluid loss and precise delivery.

Visco Dissection Cannula

With an extendable curved tip

The 25g Visco Dissection Cannula’s tip allows injection of viscoelastic material for gentle dissection of epiretinal membranes. When extended, the curved tip allows injection parallel to the retina surface and when retracted, easy passage through entry cannulas. A female luer connector allows easy connection to syringe.

Olive Tip SC Cannula

For anterior suprachoroidal injection of fluid

The curved Olive Tip SC Cannula (El Rayes) is especially useful for injecting a filler material, such as viscoelastic, to create a buckle effect in the treatment of peripheral retinal detachments. The cannula can also be used to inject therapeutic agents or to aspirate blood or other fluids in the suprachoroidal space.
