Haag-Streit Academy prepare for slit lamp skills courses in Birmingham

Haag-Streit Academy will be hosting its slit lamp basic and advanced skills courses at The Studio in Birmingham on 17th & 18th June 2025.

Each course includes a mixture of guest lectures and interactive workshops with Haag-Streit UK Project Managers. The workshops are always popular, as they give attendees the chance to spend time practising with Haag-Streit equipment, an activity they don’t always have time for in a busy clinic.

Ophthalmologist at Bristol Eye Hospital, Mr Sunil Mamtora, will be presenting lectures on each day of the course. Sunil balances his clinical commitments with his academic work as a researcher and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow. Sunil was previously the Chair of the Ophthalmologists Training Group (OTG) at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as well as sitting on the Council for the college and being a member of the trustee board.

Haag-Streit UK Events Manager, Victoria Chapman-Brown, commented: "It’s great that we can offer our slit lamp skills courses in somewhere so centrally located as Birmingham. We’re looking forward to a busy couple of days. At the time of writing, there were a couple of spaces left on the course, so if you’d be interested in attending, then get in touch as soon as possible. The slit lamp skills courses are the ideal opportunity to enhance your skills in a relaxed and supported environment. If you are unable to attend the June courses, we are hosting our slit lamp skills courses in October at Haag-Streit Academy HQ in Bishop’s Stortford."

Priced at just £150 (ex VAT) per day, attendees can choose to attend either or both days. The Studio is located very close to Birmingham New Street train station, providing excellent transport links.
