Haag-Streit Academy delivers successful slit lamp courses at University of Gloucester

Haag-Streit UK recently delivered its popular Academy slit lamp courses at the University of Gloucester.

Lectures were delivered by slit lamp experts, including Ophthalmologist, Mr Sunil Mamtora, and HS-UK slit lamp and imaging Product Manager, Gemma Edwards. A series of hands-on practical workshops covering tonometry, use of the Eyesi slit lamp simulator, basic slit lamp controls, and 3D imaging, provided delegates with valuable opportunities to practise and refine their slit lamp skills.

Haag-Streit UK Events Manager, Victoria Chapman-Brown, commented: “The most recent course brought together a diverse group of delegates representing a range of professional roles. Their enthusiasm was evident throughout, and as always, they particularly valued the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the slit lamps. It was a pleasure to see such strong engagement and interest across the group.”

This slit lamp course was preceded by a bespoke training session for University of Gloucester Ophthalmic Imaging Degree students, to provide them with hands-on practical experience as well as presentations and lectures on slit lamp, biometry and perimetry topics.

Feedback on the slit lamp courses is always excellent, with one delegate saying, “Really interesting and perfectly paced! The course has made me feel so much more confident in my examination skills and I will carry that on in my day-to-day practice in A&E.”
