Haag-Streit UK enjoyed a successful RCOphth Congress

Haag-Streit UK enjoyed a successful RCOphth Congress 2024 at the ICC in Belfast on 20th-23rd May.

As the exclusive Haag-Streit distributor for Northern Ireland, we were pleased to see our valued Irish customers in Belfast, as well as customers from throughout the UK. We showcased our Eyestar 900 swept-source OCT & biometer, SOLIX OCT system, MR Q YAG laser and BQ 900 slit lamp with IM 910 imaging module, and our brand-new IM 910 3D slit lamp imaging module, which proved very popular with delegates.

On the first day of the event, the IM 910 3D made an appearance in the Slit Lamp Grand Round session hosted by Sunil Mamtora, Iain Livingstone, Rebecca Jones, and Michael Williams, which featured both 3D examinations of live patients and 3D videos of pathology captured in clinic.

The Haag-Streit Eyesi Slit Lamp and Eyesi Surgical simulators were showcased on the stand, giving delegates the opportunity to have a trial of these innovative products, and we offered dry lab demonstrations utilising the Deep Reality Viewer (DRV) alongside the iTrack Advance canaloplasty microcatheter. The John Weiss range of surgical instruments were also available for customers to view.

Our Eyesi Surgical simulator competition proved to be very popular. It gave contestants an opportunity to test their cataract and vitreoretinal skills. We had a mixture of trainees and consultants attempting the navigation task. The winners of the competition were Emma Kerr, Harry Rosen, and Marike Pretorius, who all received a box of chocolates and a £50 Amazon voucher. All participants had the chance to join our 100 Club if they scored 100% in the competition, and we were thrilled that 10 delegates made it into the club.

Haag-Streit UK Marketing Manager, Rebecca Seymour, attended the event. She commented: “The HS-UK team really enjoyed their time in Belfast at this year’s RCOphth Annual Congress. It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with customers from Northern Ireland as the event travelled to Belfast for the first time. We were thrilled to see such a fantastic response to our 3D slit lamp imaging and to engage with delegates about the benefits of this technology for clinical education and teaching.”
