METIS: Your surgical control centre

The METIS microscope brings Haag-Streit’s quality optics into the operating room, ensuring exceptional clarity and precision during ophthalmic surgeries. Featuring a stable coaxial red reflex, METIS delivers brilliant visualisation. Designed with the surgeon’s comfort in mind, METIS re-envisions outstanding ergonomics. Through intuitive features, surgeons have complete control of the microscope, along with a compact design that maximises space and movement.

The METIS offers sustainable LED illumination, reducing heat and energy consumption while providing the most efficient light source available. Other features include an assistant microscope for collaborative learning, wide-angle fundus visualisation for clear views, and the Microscope Imaging and Operation System (MIOS 6) with its simple-to-operate dashboard and interactive menus.

Brilliant red reflex 

With its optimised coaxial red reflex, METIS puts control exactly where you need it. From capsulorhexis to nuclear disassembly and capsular polishing: enjoy a stable, bright, homogenous red reflex and great contrast, even during low light levels.

Glaucoma tilt

METIS gives complete control of glaucoma positioning without compromising speed or safety. Simply activate the motorised tilt at the touch of a button to effortlessly position your viewing angle. 

Efficient control

With its programmable foot and hand switches, you can easily tilt, filter, focus, and zoom at the touch of a button. Efficient workflow is embedded into METIS's motorised features, bringing greater productivity to your working days. 

Fundus visualisation

Wide-angle fundus observation is made easy with the EIBOS 2. It’s simple to fit, with an integrated inverter that does not add complexity or height to the microscope. The lenses provide a clear wide-view for your core vitrectomy.

Imaging & recording

Developed in collaboration with surgeons and users, MIOS features interactive menus to guide your team effortlessly through the surgical workflow. Through its simple-to-operate dashboard, MIOS allows you to create profiles for surgeons and patients, and record procedures.
